Cancellation Policy:
There may be times when weather, swell, wind and/or sea conditions may force us to cancel a trip. Cathedral Cove Dive reserves the right to cancel any scheduled trip to ensure the safety of clients, staff, and equipment. If in doubt or you are coming from out of town, feel free to call us on the morning of the trip to confirm that the scheduled trip is running.
All Scuba Diving and Snorkel Boat Tour cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to meet time of trip, otherwise the full trip price may be charged. If personal health conditions do not allow a dive, Cathedral Cove Dive may offer alternate dates if available.
Seasickness, inability to equalise, weather conditions, lateness due to traffic, and personal health conditions are not premises for refund.
Health & Safety Policy
Wendy Helms (Managing Director) is ultimately responsible for the Safe Management Systems. Our policies are designed to:
- As a response to the Covid 19 pandemic, we will be following current best practices as advised
- Prevent the occurrence of notifiable events to staff, customers and visitors;
- Provide a healthy and safe workplace, safe equipment and proper materials;
- Comply with Health and Safety Legislation, the Safety Audit Standard, Industry Training Organisation Standards and Occupational Diving Guidelines and Standards;
- Continually improve health and safety management;
- Establish and insist upon safe practices at all times;
- Empower Staff to have the authority to halt an activity on safety grounds;
- Take all practicable steps to ensure the health and safety of staff, participants and visitors.
We will actively practise and pursue safety for employees, clients and subcontractors and the general public who may, from time to time, come into contact with our operation. We require the timely and accurate reporting of all incidents, accidents, unsafe conditions and near misses.

As a New Zealand Adventure Activity, we are required to share with you this information about your trip with us:
Our trips involve an element of time onboard one of our boats, and although our staff hold first aid qualifications, and all our vessels are equipped with first aid kits and oxygen, only limited medical treatment is available onboard if required. To help ensure your safety, please disclose any medical issues before coming out with us.
By booking one of our trips, I accept that the diving & snorkeling activity inherently involves risks and
potential hazards. The risks and hazards are itemised in our Hazard Register and include, but are not limited to:
Noise of dive compressor while testing Cylinders and equipment repairs, Falling on slippery surfaces, Unstable or uncontrolled scuba equipment, Exposure to Covid 19, dehydration, sea sickness, drowning, Pre-existing medical condition (including respiratory symptoms), Boat/marine traffic, Sun exposure, Entanglement, Low water and/or air temperatures, Lost Diver, Marine life, Vehicle accidents, Communication difficulty due to different languages, Drug and alcohol, Barotrauma, Ineffective pre-dive safety checks, Participants using equipment incorrectly, Open water environment, Limited visibility, Buddy Separation, Dehydration, Entry and exit on shore dives, Fatigue, Inadequate or damaged equipment, Injury occurring while the boat is being launched or retrieved on the beach, Injury occurring whilst travelling from shop to the beach, Shallow water black out whilst Freediving, Freediver getting entangled or stuck underwater whilst holding a breath, Over expansion injury to freediver, , Backing the boat/trailer into the parking area at back of shop and on the beach, Transporting people in Van. Seat belt use/booster seat available, Natural Hazards: atmospheric-, land-, or water-related occurrence (including volcanic activity, landslip, avalanche, rockfall, ice fall, storm, or flooding) the action of which adversely affects a location where an adventure activity is provided
Dive/Snorkeling trips are run outdoors on the ocean, so may be exposed to sudden natural disasters such as, but not limited to Tsunami, Earthquakes, Slips Landslides or Rock Falls, or Volcanic Eruption.
I am aware that participating in the Diving/Snorkeling offered by Cathedral Cove Dive & Snorkel can be hazardous if they are not conducted with care, control, and responsibility. I acknowledge that these risks could result in my injury (physical or mental) or even death.

Heavy dive equipment, Decompression sickness, Nitrogen Narcosis, Poor quality Air, If Discover scuba divers are left on the shoreline with SCUBA gear on, Divers surfacing a long distance from the boat, Activities at Seal bay
Cathedral Cove Dive Covid19 Policy

We are now operating our trips with no vaccination pass requirements HOWEVER we require all divers coming out on a trip with us to be fit and healthy with no signs of COVID 19. Please inform us immediately if you are not well as we have onsite RAT tests if needed. We will follow all Health guidelines in our best attempt to keep everyone safe.
