Established in 1992, Cathedral Cove Dive is locally owned and operated and is the longest operating dive business in the area. Our local under water knowledge of the area is unmatched.
We offer:
- We are situated right at the Beach, with many of the dive sites only a 10 minute boat ride
- Single tank diving means you still have time to hit low tide Hot Water Beach, stroll to the Cove or just spend time relaxing with friends & family at lovely Hahei Beach. There is around 1 ½ hours back on shore for lunch, between trips
- New and top quality Rental Aqualung Scuba gear
- Optional Reserve or non Reserve diving. We can’t promise anything here but definitely can put you in a spot where your chances may run high for a crayfish dinner!!
- Well trained friendly staff, small groups with personal service. We welcome individual divers and/or Groups.
Our Team
Wendy
Wendy is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and has been a PADI professional for 35 years. She is the original company owner from the beginning, and her extended family has enjoyed Hahei since the 1960’s.
She spends a great deal of time managing the Dive Store but sneaks out for a dive when possible, enjoying being involved with all levels of diver training. She is also a skipper on the dive boat..
JOSH
Josh is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, our Free Diver Instructor and also a skipper on the dive boat. He studied at Otago Uni where he completed his BSc ecology, mainly in the Marine Science field, and is passionate about our environment.
He divides his time between the boat and underwater filming where he is in his element. Josh is a keen spearo and enjoys kite boarding, sailing of course the surf.
Grace
With 7 years of experience as a PADI Open Water Instructor, I have had the privilege of exploring the vibrant underwater landscapes of Australia, Asia, the Pacific, and New Zealand. My passion for diving has allowed me to share the beauty of the ocean with students from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through their underwater adventures. I’m dedicated to fostering a safe and engaging learning environment, ensuring every diver leaves with both skills and unforgettable memories.
ETIENNE
Etienne is a PADI Elite Instructor and has been lucky enough to dive at many outstanding dive sites throughout the world – Asia, the Caribbean, Australia and now New Zealand.
He is our French speaking instructor in the Dive Centre, teaching in both French and English, enabling us to run courses in French. Etienne has adapted to the NZ lifestyle amazingly, he loves all outdoor sport, whether it’s soccer, biking, climbing and running.
Katerina
Katerina started her diving career in the Mediterranean at the age of 16. Today she is a Divemaster and a big ocean lover, getting involved in many activities that involve the water – surfing, free diving and sailing to name a few. Always a keen learner and enjoying the personal and professional growth, Katerina has now jumped on the boats as a Skipper.
